I can't access voice calls. Why?

Voice calls require microphone permissions in your browser. Check your browser settings to ensure NILES has access to your microphone. Also verify your internet connection is stable.

Here are some steps you can take:

  • Check Microphone Permissions (Chrome): Please ensure that your browser has permission to access your microphone. If these permissions are turned off or blocked, the voice feature will stay in "connecting" mode indefinitely. Here are the steps:

    • Open Google Chrome and go to app.askniles.ai.

    • Click the View Site Information icon, located on the left of the address bar, right next to the URL.

    • Select "Site settings" from the menu that drops down.

    • Select "Allow" next to the microphone and try using the Voice component.

    • Refresh the AskNILES page and try connecting again.

  • Clear Cache for the Niles Website (Chrome): We recommend clearing the specific data for our site to refresh the connection without erasing your history for other websites.

    • Open Google Chrome and go to app.askniles.ai.

    • Click the View Site Information icon, located on the left of the address bar, right next to the URL.

    • Select "Site settings" from the menu that drops down.

    • Under the "Usage" section at the top, click the "Delete data" button.

    • Click "Delete" to confirm.

    • Refresh the AskNILES page and try connecting again.
